EVO X Final Concept

Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X Concept Final

As someone who appreciates the creativity and ingenuity of automotive designers who create concept cars, there is something to be obtained  from all of it. The idea of the “concept car” gives designers and enthusiasts the ability to foresee what a car could look like and how it may outperform their predecessors. As with current and past models, there will always be something that enthusiasts and gear heads alike will want upgraded in future models.  Most will agree that power output and suspension tuning are on top of everyone’s wish list.

The current 2015 Subaru STi had a lot of mixed reviews which are apparent at this point in time. One of which is the front look of the car that looks similar to the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo. The other is the same EJ257 engine. Two years ago, the concept Subaru WRX boasted a lot of future possibilities and left a lot to be desired.

Mitsubishi has done the same with their Evo X by ending production on this infamous rally car. I guess a proper send off is needed with the Evo X Concept Final. The most powerful ECU tuned Evo to come off production with 473 horsepower to the Tokyo Auto Salon.

It also looks like Mitsubishi is partnering up with HKS on aftermarket parts such as  adding a HKS-upgraded turbo, intake, exhaust, fuel management, and ECU software to increase an additional 182 extra horses out of the 2.0-liter four. The tuning house’s Hipermax Max4 SP adjustable suspension controls body motions, and Yokohama Advan tires on 19-inch Volk Racing G25 wheels send the power to the ground.

The Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X Concept Final will also be painted in matte-black. I’m pretty sure there will be a limited production of this car. Japan is very lucky to have such high powered vehicles as we will probably not see it in the United States. This concept seems to be headed for the Tokyo auto show as a high-horsepower tribute to the rally-bred race and track car.

I would love to hear some feedback from Lancer EVO owners. Enter your replies below. Thanks.

    1. Thanks for the comment. I agree as well. I am a fan of the VIII and new X/GSR models. I’m still very surprised at the fact Mitsubishi shut down their rally inspired car. I hope something better comes out in the future for them.

      What are you driving Justin?
